I’m Trying To Comment, I Promise

Angry man screaming at computer

For the past two days I have been unable to post comments on other blogs. A very small number have posted, but most completely vanish after I hit the “Post Comment” button. This has nothing to do with Comment Moderation. It is happening on sites that are moderated and those that are not. I am able to click the “Like Button.”

I’m not getting support in the forums, so I’m beyond frustrated. Anyone else have this and fixed it?

    1. I also never see your post in my reader feed as I previously have…this has been going on for about 4-5 days. So I have to go back to a post you have commented on my blog in order to get to your site.

      1. Hmmm. That doesn’t make me happy. Could you check your “Followed Sites” and let me know if my blog is still listed there? My Visitors & Views have dropped off suddenly and we may be on to something. Thank you!

          1. I don’t use the emails for posts, but I don’t think the system is designed to send emails for replies. I think the only way to get those is through the WP Reader.

            1. yea, I get notifications when anyone replies to a comment in my notifications at the top right. I might have fixed the issue on my end. I deleted a post of my last week in which you had commented on and I just noticed in my pane that your comment was yellowed and needed to be approved? Never had that happen before but now I have approved it so we will see if it fixes the problem on my end.

I get an email notification anytime you make a post on your blog. For the last several days I have not though. I’ll monitor and let you know if this keeps happening. Maybe that yellowed out comment deemed you as a spammer or something, not sure.

              1. Yeah, the spammer problem went on for two days. Somehow it fixed itself overnight and I’ve been posting on blogs this morning with no problems. Thanks for hanging on with me.

  1. Did you contact this email yet?

    help@wordpress.com

I’ve contacted them with various blog problems and they got right on it!
Good luck, my wonderful friend – I don’t want you frustrated about this!!!! Let us know how it goes, and send me good juju that I don’t blow it tonight, Lose It!-wise!

  2. Don’t feel too bad. At least you’re trying. I’m notoriously bad about commenting on other blogs, I always mean to, but then I get distracted or lazy an just don’t. I have no excuses. I feel terribly guilty about being like that. At least you have a legit. reason for not commenting.

    1. I understand. Some days when my head is spinning from mania or it hurts to read because of depression, I’m not always so good at commenting.

  3. So it wasn’t just on mine then? As said, all your comments went into spam for some reason, which made NO sense. I certainly had not put you there, and you had more than the correct number of previously approved comments.

    1. I had that problem with one of my readers. For no logical reason whatsoever her comments went directly to my spam folder. As a result, checking for spam is now the very first thing I do when I log on.

It’s strange, but I’m happy that the problem corrected it self.

  4. Yes, I had that same trouble. I complained to WP, posted a blog about it, and eventually, it was fixed. Most of my comments were going to spam :/
