Straight No Chaser

If you’re like me, you’re getting a little tired of Christmas music already. I’ve had enough of Jingle Bells and Silent Night. Thankfully I’ve avoided Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer, because once is once too many of that wretched song. However, there is one song that never gets on my nerves and that is The Twelve Days of Christmas performed by a cappella group Straight No Chaser. Whether you like the song or loathe it, I’m certain you’ll enjoy this version.

Now, put another log on the fire, put on your slippers, add some extra rum to your egg nog, then sit back and enjoy…

I’ve heard this a few times at work… it definitely competes with the McKenzie Brothers for best version of one of Christmas’ most annoying songs….

And as much as I generally loathe holiday music, I have a strange confession to make. Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer is maybe the only Christmas song that never gets old to me. I can’t explain why….

Most people I know love that song. The first time I heard it about 30 years ago I laughed, but it got old very quickly. I forgot about the McKenzie Brothers, ey.
