weekly wrap-up

Mood

Not too much to say about my mood. Overall I’m still doing great. I had a few bouts with depression last week, but I think they were more related to the heat and being tired. You may recall that I made a commitment to walk five miles to the library each day. This allows me to get my daily exercise goal of 10,000 steps in, plus an air conditioned environment and comfortable place to write. I only went one day. A couple of the days I had doctor appointments, which got in the way, but the other days I didn’t get up early enough to beat the heat of the day. I wound up at home falling asleep from the intense heat and remained tired and grumpy. Our apartment is like an oven.

I hope to do better this week.

Weight and Fitness

Weight on June 18 – 259.8
Weight on July 02 – 260.8
Total gain = 0.8 lbs

Even though I gained this week, I’m thrilled. Considering the food available at Maurice’s parents last holiday weekend, and my taking advantage of every bite, I was certain I’d gained at least two pounds.

This week it will be the library for me. If I do get moving too late, I need to at least get out of the apartment before the heat gets to me. I have the option of getting a good walk in by going to Starbucks (about 2 ½ to 3 miles.) If it reaches too high to hit Starbucks, I have a good friend who lives nearby and works from home. She has an air conditioner so I won’t pass out mid-day. To wrap it all up In one simple sentence: Every day I need to get out of this furnace we call an apartment no matter what.

Writing

Still struggling writing the sermon I’ll be conducting on July 24th. I picked a subject that’s harden that I anticipated. This has gotten in the way of writing my novel, but I forced myself to make sure I get a little of that in too. My goal is to wrap up writing the sermon by Wednesday so I can get back at the novel before I get too frustrated.

Synopsis

It was an okay week. Not good, not bad. It just was, and I’m okay with that.

  1. Hey there my Lose It! buddy!

.8 gain is nothing, my friend! It’s water weight!!! (Isn’t it?)

I’m so sorry your apartment gets so hot – that really does suck one’s energy/lifeblood.
At least you went to the library one day last week instead of none – give yourself credit, darlin’! Hopefully you’re back up to speed today….maybe you even went there yesterday….or to Starbuck’s or your friend’s place. It’s great you have options and you thoughtt them up.

Hope the sermon writing and novel writing are going smoothly!

And for my final note, I dedicate the following song to you – see you soon!

  2. I’m trying to get 10,000 steps in every other day. The heat makes it hard so I go for several short walks instead of long ones. Don’t really have any restaurants or anything close to walk to like you. That would be nice if I did to kind of break up a long walk. Hope you have a good week.

    1. The heat of the day frustrates me even though I have places to stop. I didn’t make it out today, so I’m hoping for a better tomorrow. Keep up the good work.
