Tag – I’m It

This is similar to the emails you receive, but this one I think is good. It gives a little information to get to know me a bit better and , more importantly, the opportunity to promote other bloggers that deserve the attention.

I’ve been tagged by my friend Shiv. You know how this goes. Fill out your answers below, tag three people, say who tag, and post.

1) what was the best moment of your life?
The day, and minute my daughter was born. A moment that makes me smile every time I think about it.

2) if you could pick a superpower what would it be?
The ability to turn invisible. I’m very nosy.

3) if there was one thing that you could do, with no limits of any kind what, would it be?
Travel. I’d love to see every part of the world.

4) whats the weirdest dream you’ve ever had?
When I was a child I use to dream regularly about a foot that was chasing me. That’s all, just a foot. Each night the story continued where the last left off, just like a television series.

5) what is the weirdest thing about you?
I have anosmia, which is the inability to smell. People have a hard time comprehending it, but as the website for the Anosmia Foundation says, “Anosmia is to smell, as blindness is to sight, or deafness is to hearing.”

6) whats your favorite self made philosophy?
“There’s nothing sadder than a person who chooses to live miserable as a victim and never understands the misery is their own choice.”

7) what (if any) question has been the most annoying unanswered question of your life?
Does reincarnation exist.

8) Why do you blog?
It’s cathartic to me to be open and honest about my disease, and not in the closet about it. In addition I hope to educate those who have not been diagnosed with a mental illness.

You’re it Zathyn, la, and Lizzie.
Be sure to check out their blogs.

  1. This was a great way to get to know you a little bit. Anosmia…hmmm that can potentially put you into dangerous situations if you can’t smell gas, odors, smoke or yourself…oops that is an embarassing situation, not dangerous. Well, it could be, on second thought rather not go there. I don’t even know you.Myself on the other hand have hypersensitive everything especially when it comes to strong fragrances, odors, etc…I get sick, can’t breath…It makes going out really tough, but I wouldn’t want it your way either. Like can you not smell coffee. The sense of smell is so essential to the enjoyment of food. Is that a problem? Are you born with it? When did you know? I’m sorry I’m twenty questions, not my name, today. I hope you don’t mind, but I’d like to know more. I’m a curious sort. I like learning new things. It is not me who is curious…or am I?

  2. Hi Clueless and greetings to a neighbor here in Shaky Town. I don’t mind the questions at all.My perception has been there are more bad smells than good smells, but it still is odd. I use to have a cat and always worried about her possibly making messes. I have learned there are devices created to notify you of these types of things including gas leaks etc.As you mentioned, gas leaks are a real concern.I cannot smell a thing. Not coffee , not bad smells, nothing whatsoever. It does seriously affect my ability to taste. Most of the enjoyment I get from taste is texture. I will eat things cold that others wouldn’t.Check out this post: http://howisbradley.blogspot.com/2008/05/peanut-butter-will-be-death-of-me.html#linksI was born with it. I didn’t figure it out until my late teens. I always figured I wasn’t understanding the thrill of it, and then I read a Newsweek article and it hit me like a ton of bricks.I’m sure it’s not just you that is curious. I get all these questions all the time.

  3. No, I am nutty curious and can be a bit squirrelly, but I don’t have the potential for rabies. Are you wondering who the heck I am?

  4. Aaah, I have congenital anosmia too! The further into the blogosphere I look the more coincidences start piling up… Pleased to meetcha, I’m Suzy, and I wish I lived in LA because it looks pretty sunny. Unlike England right now. Su x

  5. Drat, just seen that you’ve already been tagged with that viral. No matter, I wont make you do it again :PYes England has pretty dire weather at the moment. Constantly grey and drizzle :(A foot chasing you? Sounds like something from a Monty Python animation!~Shiv
