An Amazing Weight Loss

A few weeks ago Maurice and I put our quarters in and stepped on one of those public scales. Too our surprise the scale matched exactly what the doctors scale did earlier that day.

Yesterday we went to a movie (The Hulk) and in lobby there was another public scale. I put my quarter in and it showed amazingly enough that I had lost 26 pounds in two weeks. Some would say this scale is broken, but I love it and am sticking with it.

Hulk, btw, was a good movie. In the past the only comic book I was a big fan of was Spiderman. (I found him damned sexy). It appears the Marvel movies are beginning to tie in together their various movie characters. Maurice tells me they were called “Team Avengers” or something like that. It should be interesting as it progresses.

Because of all the action in the film my anxiety level went up pretty high and I began to shake, so I did have to step into the hallway for a bit. Unfortunately I’d forgotten my anti anxiety meds, so I just struggled through the day here and there.

  1. Just thinking about going to a movie makes me tremble and when you said that you forgot your meds, I shook. Despite not having your meds, I’m glad that you had a good time and was able to make it through the day!!! Hooray for the day! Hooray for the weight loss! Hooray for Brad! No, I was never a cheerleader…I would have injured myself…no coordination. I can barely walk without having something happen. How did I get that bruise? heehee

  2. I wish the weight loss was real, but I haven’t lost the 26 pounds in two weeks. I just think I’m going to keep going back and using that broken scale because it makes me feel good.

  3. Don’t get too hung up on the numbers. You are doing the right things (exercise and eating properly) so the numbers will take care of themselves. You are doing well. Even the broken scale knew that. 🙂

  4. Public scales? I never use actual pounds lost as a measurement on how effective a weight program is rather rely on the old method of another hole in the belt. Can you do me a favor and resend the info regarding the directory as it has not come in yet. Thanks

  5. Well done on managing through the day, especially going to the movies and without your meds. I look forward to hearing how you get on day by day and would hope to see some comments from you on my own blog, the only people I have really spoke to about my problems are people within my own age group. It would be good to discuss stuff with someone who may be older and wiser.

  6. Congrats on the weight loss!I used to refuse to weigh myself until just after an exercise session and going to the bathroom. Cheap tactics I know but it made me feel good!Did you see the bit at the end of Iron man by the way? After the credits that is…~Shiv

  7. Oh…you are a brave man…I never weigh myself anymore…only because I don’t like what the scales are saying…:0)I’m not a comic book fan but I loved the Incredible Hulk when it was on TV…that sure dates me doesn’t it??? I haven’t gone to a theater in probably 10 years…Glad you enjoyed your movie!Cheers

  9. Hi Ant, I’m going to put you on my personal bloglist for now. I’m picky who I am willing to refer my readers to so it will take a little more time. Keep up the enthusiasm, and I’ll see if I can drop a bug in peoples ears to check yours out.

  10. I need that scale, but as you said it said the exact same thing as the scale in your doctor’s office I’m hoping its real. Please share the wonders of your weight loss plan with us

  11. After weighing myself on that scale, it would be a long time before I weighed myself again. I’d ride that one out for quite a while.Don’t forget your meds! Next time, you might even turn green and burst through your clothes! I’ve seen it happen before…

  12. He bursts through his clothes, but unfortunately he always keeps his pants on. As a gay man, I…wait….let’s rethink this green thing. Oh, never mind, I guess it’s best with the pants on.

  13. Hi Bradley.I’m 21 this year. Was diagnosed with bipolar disorder after attempting suicide 4 years ago. Now, I’m struggling with anorexia for the past 2 years. I’ve been in rehab thrice and it’s nothing glamorous about it. It’s nice to know that there’s a support network out there for us. I find your writing honest and witty, and it’s so satisfying to read someone’s honesty and zest.PS: I’m sure weight loss is great. Trust me… I KNOW! Hehe.Have a wonderful week.LucasSingapore.
